Kenta Uno

Cellist - Baroque to Contemporary

Kenta Uno was born in Oita, Japan, in 1989. He started learning cello with Hiroyuki Kanaki at the age of 12.

He studied at “The Music High School attached to The Faculty of Music, Tokyo University of the Arts” with Nobuko Yamazaki and Fumiaki Kono, also at the “Konservatorium Wien University” with Walter Schultz and Cecilia Ottensamer.

In 2015, he was conferred the degree “Bachelor of Arts” with distinction.

He is currently studying on his Master degree at the “Music and Arts University of the City of Vienna” with Bruno Weinmeister. He is also under the tutelage of Franz Bartolomey.

He played as Soloist Cello Concerto of Dvorak in 2010 and 2014, also he performed as chamber music player at the Lux Festspiel Ruhla, St.Pauler Kultursommer and Sion Festival.

In 2017 he got 2nd prize at Klaipeda International Cello Competition and 1st prize of strings section also 2nd prize of advanced category at International Music competition Premio Citta di Padova.
